[vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column][vc_column_text]In Science class this week, 5th graders learned about the process of transferring thermal energy, including radiant energy from the sun, and built their own solar cookers.

On a very hot and sunny afternoon, the students tested their designs by setting up and monitoring 100 ml of water in a tin can over the course of 18 minutes.

Between collecting data points, the student ducked into the shade for quick water breaks.
