Congratulations to 9th-grader Alex for receiving attention from the Academy of American Poets.

Her letter to poet Marie Howe attracted the attention of the academy’s members and Alex received an invitation to read her letter aloud for the website as part of their Dear Poet project.

The Dear Poet project invites young people to write letters in response to poems written and read by award-winning poets. Alex wrote her letter as part of an assignment in Dr. Lawrence’s English class.
