Little School of Keystone
For preschool parents of children ages 3-4, we offer private Pre-K education for social, physical, and academic growth in a loving environment.
Little School philosophy
The Little School of Keystone works to provide a warm, nurturing environment designed to meet the needs and interests of young children in the context of the Mission of Keystone School. Our curriculum promotes a fun, positive, and rewarding educational experience. Children express themselves creatively through child-centered and teacher-directed activities to promote a positive self-image.
The Little School has four well-equipped classrooms carefully designed for our youngest students. Each classroom features touch screen white boards, along with learning centers that include dramatic play, writing, sensory bins, library centers and more.
What parents say about the Little School
My daughter started her year here when she was just 3 and spoke only French and Spanish at home. I was worried for her in terms of her learning English (and thriving) while not losing her other two languages, as well as about school safety, the quality of the education and the overall character of the school. The Little School has gone far and beyond anything I could have imagined. One year later, my little girl is speaking all 3 of her languages beautifully (and counting to 100 in each one!) and even reading sight words.
Keystone really adapts to each individual child and sees the inestimable value in each one and what they bring. The teachers and administration are an absolute dream — I leave my child here each day feeling so great she is in their care. The kids learn so much (things that I, personally, was learning in 1st grade, not pre-K) and the school makes it so fun that the kids don’t even know they are acquiring so much knowledge and skills.
Furthermore, the school also takes the time to work on the character of global citizenship on each individual. I hear my child and others constantly being polite, taking turns, cleaning up after themselves, playing fairly — it truly is a global education.
Finally, as a working mom, I really appreciate the high-quality after-care they provide — I don’t have to worry about driving my daughter around the city for great activities or leaving work in a rush. They have found excellent instructors who come in to provide soccer, piano, Spanish and martial arts right there to the preschool. We just really love it. This place is truly a haven for little minds.
We found learning to be fun and lively, with a growth mindset, as reflected in the Cobra values of Creativity and Curiosity. The Cobra values of Integrity, Empathy, and Service promote a caring and nurturing community too. We’ve enjoyed helping with parents and teachers along the way.
We are immensely grateful for our time at The Little School of Keystone. Our son will bring with him foundational life-learnings from both inside and outside of the classroom. Thank you to the teachers, staff, and the entire school community for their dedication, support, and energy! You made this an exceptional pre-K experience for our child.
Keystone is not only a school, but a community of wonderful families who share the same goal – providing a strong foundation for their child, so they can find success in life. As a household that includes a Keystone alum, it’s great to see that the school’s commitment to a positive educational experience continues.
We have felt always in partnership with the incredible and thoughtful teachers and administrators on how our children were doing – whether it was celebrating a key milestone in reading or math to understanding how we could be even more supportive of their social and emotional well-being.
When we moved to San Antonio, we hoped to find a school that not only focused on what we learn, but nurtured how we learn. And we found it! The faculty and administration are committed to elevating a love of learning, filling each day with wonder and engagement where our children are full of joy and thriving.
We could not be happier with the foundational roots that the Little School of Keystone is giving our children to share their unique gifts and contributions to this ever-changing world!
What we did not anticipate was the amount of love and nurturing that would accompany the learning, as well as the support network and friendships we have forged with other Keystone parents.
Dena and the Little School teachers truly care about the well being of our little ones while at the same time pushing them to expand their knowledge and grow as individuals in a fun, playful way.
It’s never easy to entrust your children to others, but The Little School made the decision as easy as possible.

Explore Keystone
Our historic school grounds
The Little School of Keystone opened in Fall 2012 after Keystone received a pavilion and two acres from the Greek American Society and the Catacalos Family as a generous gift. Even now, the Greek-inspired architecture serves as a reminder of the property’s rich heritage. Today, the grounds hold the pavilion, four Pre-K classrooms, an athletic field, and a covered play area for our preschoolers.
Know Your Child’s Readiness for Preschool
Parents often ask what skills a child needs for the Little School. Here is a guide to a child’s readiness for admission at age three or age four.
